The Mountain Ridge Course carves through heavily forested highlands with expansive waste bunkers and tree-lined fairways, culminating in a 200′ climb and spectacular views. Despite its challenging layout, four teeboxes on each hole make Mountain Ridge very playable, with distances ranging from 4,956 to 7,007 yards.

On Crystal’s scenic Betsie Valley course, play amidst sparkling creeks, tranquil ponds and lush meadows. Water comes into play on nine of 18 holes and its isolated fairways are accented with wildflowers and flanked by towering pines and hardwoods, creating memorable, picturesque play. You may take a cart or walk the Betsie Valley.

Manitou Passage is an Arnold Palmer Signature Course that is located in an area that gave rise to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, one of the most beautiful places in in Leelanau County. The course is set amidst green meadows and the high, coastal forests that abut Lake Michigan’s beaches and dunes and afford stunning views of a serenely beautiful landscape. The topography and ever-present winds off the water make this a course that always presents new challenges. The course is open to the public every day during the season except for aerification days.
Guests of The Homestead have exclusive use of the Mountain Flowers Par 3, nine-hole golf course that is nestled in the center of the resort. Your game begins at the pro shop in The Village near Little Belle, one of our quaint resort hotels. Work your way up and down the dune elevations and tee off with Lake Michigan, the Manitou Islands and the Sleeping Bear Dunes as your backdrop. This 18 hole championship course is tucked into the windswept hills of Benzie County highlands. Champion Hill is distinguished by its scenic, open, rolling, heather lined fairways, large contoured greens and distant views of Lake Michigan, Crystal Lake, and Platte Lakes. The highlands links design features open, rolling bluegrass fairways with many elevated teeing areas, and raised contoured green complexes.

This is the type of course that you will enjoy playing time and time again. Each nine has its own distinct personality. The first, and longer nine, is a little more open, however, there are plenty of pine trees and streams to tantalize the wandering shot. The second nine holes meander through hardwood trees and ponds with significant rolling fairways. This nine is the shorter of the two nines, and accuracy is the key to keeping your score low.

Designed by Jerry Matthews, the Dells is rated 4.5 stars by Golf Digest and overlooks beautiful Lake Michigan. The front nine is more spacious and features hills, sand and water and is a parkland type course with room to miss the fairway now and then. The back nine is cut through the trees with water and sand coming in to play as well. Combine all the natural terrain features of this cleverly cut golf course with winds coming off of Lake Michigan from the west and you have a great course that can play different every time out.
Designed by golf great Jack Nicklaus, The Bear is our best-known golf course and described as one of the toughest in the Midwest. You’ll quickly appreciate this beautiful par 72, links-style course featuring Scottish terraced fairways, tiered greens, deep grassy roughs, moguls, mounds, and deep pot bunkers. Lakes, ponds, hardwood forests, streams, and fruit orchards are home to a variety of wildlife that give The Bear its character: golf in the midst of wild nature. A distinctly Northwoods golf experience, Gary Player designed The Wolverine with each nine offering its own challenges. The course weaves through water and wetlands on the front nine, and highland terrain with hardwoods and views of Grand Traverse Bay greet you on the back nine.
Designed by former University of Michigan golf coach William Newcomb, Spruce Run golf course was aptly named to reflect the numerous fir and spruce trees that line its fairways and undulating greens. The course gracefully winds among the rolling hills overlooking East Grand Traverse Bay.
