Grand Hotel – Mackinac Island

0

Grand Hotel is situated on the southwestern bluff of Mackinac Island overlooking the Straits of Mackinac and – in the distance – the Mackinac Bridge. From the front porch – the world’s largest at 660 feet – guests can look down at the well-kept gardens and relax and enjoy the ambiance of “somewhere in time”. It is no wonder that hollywood has chosen to come here more than once. Indeed, like a classic movie, Grand Hotel is larger that life. The Victorian elegance has been kept intact. Each room at Grand Hotel has been tastefully decorated by New York designer Carleton Varney with its own special character and style. Breakfast and dinner daily are included in the Grand Hotel room rate, and are served in the Main Dining Room. Visit their website and familiarize yourself with the elegance and the history of this magnificent hotel. A stay on Mackinac Island at Grand Hotel is a unique experience and guests inevitably depart to the mainland with memories that last a lifetime.

Our fourth building, The Cottage at the Harbour View Inn, was added to our property in 2010 and is located to the west of the other three buildings.Still a part of the Harbour View Inn, sitting street side, offering its own wrap around front porch and intimate breakfast/common area.

Lake View Hotel – Mackinac Island

0

A lot of people will mention the wide white porch while others will tell you first about the swimming pool in the center of the hotel that is enclosed within a four-story atrium. We like that this hotel is directly across from the ferry docks, and in the midst of the bustling activity of Main Street, so that when one does enjoy the view from the porch they can feel a part of it all. The Lake View Hotel captures much of the past with its Victorian-style atmosphere and nineteenth-century vernacular resort architecture, including a modified hipped roof accenting an open, wood-columned porch and a raised basement. Lake View features Goodfellow’s Italian Chop House and Goodfellow’s Wings and Things.

May’s Candy ShopGreetings from May’s Candy Shop on Mackinac Island, Michigan. We make and sell a variety of fudge and candies: from Super Double Chocolate to Coconut Fudge, and unique candies like English Toffee and our popular Pecan Rolls.

We make over 14 fudge flavors! All of the candy we make are from our very own family recipes.

We also make a variety of other specialty candies. These include English Toffee, Peanut Brittle, Divinity, Pecan Glasé, Pecan Roll, Taffy, Coconut Squares, Carmel, and more.

Every candy and fudge is made with natural ingredients.

Stop by at our shops on Main Street and purchase some fudge, or watch us make our “old fashion candy recipes” such as Grandpa’s Peanut Brittle or the classic Divinity.
